Our Story

Ryan - "Like most people, music has played a big part in my life. Everything from T.V themes to songs on an advert can transport you to another place. I began to indulge when I was in my mid teens, taking an interest in playing guitar and singing when no one was around. A few close friends caught wind of me singing and encouraged me to sing at some house parties. My confidence grew! I attended Motherwell College to partake in an HND in Acting & Performance. Within this course I got to work alongside peers in the Musical Theatre class, and had many singing roles, both lead and ensemble. I also started a band back then with friends, writing, recording and performing our own music. In 2009 Yin Yang was born, performing as a duo in local pubs and clubs, then progressing to functions and weddings. To make the act a little different I felt the need to add live instruments and develop into something more than a "Vocal Duo". I incorporated the Guitar, Mandolin, Harmonica, Ukulele, Saxophone and Bouzouki into the act a few years in. I've been honoured to perform at the weddings of many couples. There's nothing quite like the buzz of seeing the smiles on their faces and their guests after a fun filled night."
